Springfield Armory took a bit of a different approach to the “small” subcompact pistol market, they went straight to a single-stack .45 ACP with the new XDS pistol. I have been excited to see this pistol since it was introduced at SHOT show in January. I really would love a small, concealable, manageable .45ACP carry [...read more]

The Sig Sauer booth was packed at the 2012 NRA AM so they appear to be doing something right. I had my 5yr old son with me at the show and the people working the Sig booth were very friendly to both of us. This was good to see as I (like many others) have [...read more]

The gun that surprised me the most (favorably) at the 2012 NRA Annual Meetings was the Kimber Solo (9mm). This was the first opportunity I had to handle one in person (availability of these has been limited). The Solo is a very small and sleek carry pistol with an incredibly smooth trigger. Smith & Wesson introduced their new single stack, small sized, 9mm and .40S&W M&P’s just in time for the NRA annual meetings April 12-14 in St. Louis. This comes after weeks of ‘teaser” pieces from S&W; which, in itself, is a somewhat of a new (and annoying) marketing strategy from the company. There has [...read more]
